Protective coatings can be defined as layers of protection for paint, metal, steel, and concrete substrates. Protective coatings are utilized for various applications in industrial, commercial, architectural, and marine areas. Some examples of protective materials are polyurea, epoxy, polyurethane, and acrylics; these finishes promote a seal of the structure they are applied on. Whether contractors use them for roofing, garage, industrial floors, chemical tanks, tank liners, or pipelines, protective coatings promote corrosion-resistance and the ability to waterproof the structure upon installation.
