Corrosion coatings provide a layer of protection so the underlying materials are waterproofed; without moisture, the structure is corrosion-resistant. Coatings contractors apply these materials, which are utilized for commercial applications such as roofing, garage, and flooring applications as well as industrial applications, such as chemical tank exteriors and lining, steel pipelines and industrial flooring. Corrosion coatings can also be used during architectural applications to protect interior and exterior of buildings from paint corrosion, and even in marine applications, to seal the hulls of boats and tank liners. Corrosion coatings will adhere to metal, steel, paint, and concrete substrates. Contractors utilize materials such as polyurea, polyurethane, epoxy and silicone to provide protection from corrosion to the structure.
